At Sopra Steria, people really do come first. And Axelle Van Goolen, People manager, is living proof. After nearly seven years in the company, she’s embraced a role that’s all about care, connection and communication. Her mission? To make sure our consultants feel connected, appreciated and looked after, even when they’re out working at client sites.

So, what does your job involve, Axelle?

I speak with our consultants regularly by checking how they’re doing, what they might need, and whether they feel supported.


What’s the purpose of the project you’re working on?
I'm part of an internal initiative that focuses on the well-being of more than 150 consultants. With my team, we make sure no one slips through the cracks as we're always ready to offer support when it's needed and celebrate great work when it happens.


How is Sopra Steria involved in all of this?

I don’t just place consultants with clients and disappear. I stay close as I follow up, offer support, and recognise great performance. Sopra Steria gives me the trust and freedom to support people properly.


How did this support approach come about?
It happened naturally. As our team grew, we realised we needed someone whose main focus was looking out for our consultants. That’s where I come in, I act as the link between the client, the consultant, and Sopra Steria.
